Several Sources Shelters has three maternity homes where pregnant women who have no place else to stay in their time of greatest need.  Several Sources Shelters creates a much-needed family environment where these women can find a safe haven while they are pregnant and up to a year after the baby is born.

With more than 37 years of counseling young people, Several Sources recognizes that education is the key to ending the cycle bringing young women to our shelters.  The women who come to our maternity homes are encouraged to continue their education so they are better able to care for themselves and their children.  Through the generosity of private donors and foundations, we have been able to offer scholarships to help these young women.

Several Sources Shelters makes a commitment to help those women who chose life for their baby until that child turns 19.  While many of the mothers who stay at one of our maternity homes go on to get further education, find a job, get married, some of those women, mostly single parents doing their best to raise their child, need support, sometimes financial, often emotional or spiritual. Through our Special Families Program, we are able to help these women to keep their families together and provide resources they need to be successful in life.

In 2013 Several Sources Shelters established a pregnancy resource center in Englewood NJ across from one of the oldest abortion clinics in the country.  Women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy can come to Our Gift of Hope Sonogram Center for counseling, a free sonogram and many other resources that they need to help them chose life for their innocent preborn baby.

Several Sources also operates a unique faith based daytime shelter for homeless women and their children in Newark, NJ, where they face a complex difficult inner city environment. At Ladies Rest Shelter, these women find a place filled with love, dignity, and the ability to start a new life.

Ten years ago Several Sources received a grant from the Federal government to create an interactive curriculum, The Choice Game, to help young people understand the consequences of the decision that they are making and to help them make healthy choices.  Today Several Sources is continuing it’s commitment to teach young people to overcome peer pressure and to learn how to make positive life choices in the areas of alcohol, drugs and other complex topics they face grounded in faith based Catholic teaching at our Holy Family Retreat Center.

In 2011 a young pregnant woman studying to become a doctor in the Ukraine reached out to Several Sources when she found herself in an unplanned pregnancy.  Through the grace of God we were able to help this young woman, whose daughter is now 8 years old.  Wanting to give back and help other women who find themselves pregnant and needing support, Prim started Our International Gift of Hope Pregnancy Resources Center and Shelter in Uganda and the Ukraine with support from Several Source Shelter.  To date over 700 mothers and babies have been helped.
